NEW YORK (AP)—The New York Knicks say Chauncey Billups(notes) is questionable for
Game 3 of their playoff series with a strained left knee and Amare Stoudemire(notes) is
day-to-day with a back injury.
Both players had MRI exams Wednesday while the team took a day off following
two losses in Boston. Billups’ test confirmed a strained tendon, which forced
him to miss Game 2 after he was hurt on a drive to the basket near the end of
the series opener.
Stoudemire was hurt while dunking during pregame warmups Tuesday. He played
most of the first half before leaving for good with back spasms, and his MRI
confirmed a pulled muscle.
Game 3 is Friday at Madison Square Garden.
